Post-harvest loss (PHL) remains a critical challenge in Nigeria where approximately  20% of cereals, 30% of dairy and fish, and 40% of fruit and vegetables are lost due to the non-availability of storage facilities and poor cold chain infrastructure (CCI). PHL costs the country approximately ₦3.5 trillion per annum, further aggravating food insecurity and economic strain.
